A Snail's Pace Arrives in Monrovia

It's official. A Snail's Pace Running Shop is open for business in Monrovia. Located in one of the store fronts at the Paragon Luxury Apartments in Old Town, the running store opened last Sunday.

This is the company's fourth location in addition to Brea, Laguna Hills and Fountain Valley. A Snail's Pace was founded in 1979, and specializes in running and walking gear.

They are located at 750 S. Myrtle Avenue, and can be reached at (626)471-9101.

Monrovia launches Online Business Resource Center

altWant to bring your business to Monrovia but don't know where to start? Do you want to expand your business but you need guidance through the process?

In an effort to answer these questions, Monrovia's Redevelopment/Economic Development Team launched its Online Business Resource Center on June 16.

What businesses do you want to see?

During Monrovia’s 125 Birthday Celebration, the Redevelopment/Economic Development Team took a tally from residents to determine what businesses they want to see in Monrovia. We took the businesses from our “Hit List,” developed by the Vision 2015 Committee, and also gave participants an opportunity to write in other businesses they would like to see. In total, there were 125 participants.

Council gives Economic Development Action Plan stamp of approval

Monrovia's first Economic Development Action Plan was approved unanimously by the Monrovia City Council on April 5, 2011. The Plan, prepared by the "R/ED Team" -- which is the City's Redevelopment and Economic Development Team -- focuses on ways to attract, retain and grow local businesses.
